Please, don’t touch the baby!!!

Here’s a picture taken last year of my two boys.  The oldest was 8 and the youngest was only about 2 months.  What is this rude phenomenon that people have with touching babies!  It was aggravating when the baby was a newborn and it’s still aggravating now that he’s 16 months old.  My child is a person, not a toy.  Would you go up to a grown adult and play with their hair or touch their face?  Not to mention the hands.  Don’t people know that babies and toddlers put their hands in their mouths constantly?  This also brings to mind the phenomenon of touch a pregnant woman’s belly.  It’s as if her stomach is not part of her body.  Almost like people don’t see it as touching her actually skin.  You wouldn’t go up to a non-pregnant woman and put your hands on her stomach.  Remember, a pregnant woman’s stomach is part of her body.  If you are dying to find out what a pregnant belly feels like ask permission first and see if she’ll oblige.  But as far as the baby goes; “Please, don’t touch the baby!”
