You gotta recharge. As a mom, no matter how many kids you have, you know that you have to recharge. I recharge best when I am out of the house. It’s hard to experience a real sense of peace with a baby crying, a 9 year old running around the house and dad trying to control it all. Tonight I found a great way to recharge. I attended a local MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) meeting that my friend Shari recommended. During their meetings, they always have a craft for your to complete, nothing complicated, and a speaker to provide enrichment and encouragement. Tonight was great. I decorated a plain white plate with porcelain ink pens, red, orange, green, blue and turquoise. It was quite fun and relaxing. A group of “seasoned” moms were part of a panel discussion that dealt with topics related to marriage, children and even depression. One of the moms on the panel had 8 kids and home schools them all. I need to remember her when I’m struggling with my two. Connecting with other moms who know what your days are like without you saying a word is definitely the support I need.
