Last week was a terrific reminder of how much babies love the outdoors. In the Washington, DC area temperatures reached the 70s, a preview of the Spring to come. Taking a brisk walk, with Elijah in the stroller, was a great way to kill three birds with one stone.
- I was able to get in some much needed exercise,
- I was able to clear my mind, and
- Elijah was able to get a great nap.
The great thing about this type of post-natal exercise is that you can get started right away. When you’re ready, you can add some ankle weights to make the walk more challenging, or find different areas to walk; maybe a location that has more hills. If you get more agressive with exerising with the stroller you probably want to invest in a good sturdy one. Help with selecting the right baby stroller for exercise.

Hey Kristine!!
Ugh…I am trying to get back on track! It is hard after third baby. My baby is one year old and right after she was born I did the boot camp and just have been on a roller coaster ride with my weight ever since. I did loose 18 lbs last year, but gain four pounds back over the holidays! I have got to get motivated to loose this weight.
I am glad to see you have this up.
Congrats on the new little one too.
Hope to see you soon,
Tami

That weather was a treat and we too ventured to the playground.
Even the BIG snow of 2 hours was a treat yesterday. My 8 & 6 yo built a snow family. I can honestly say, I’ve never made such a big snowman in my life. It took everything I had (with kid power) to get the other sections on top. Wet snow was H E A V Y.
Well today, everything is sore … a little fun (warm or cold) can be great exercise. I’ll find another fun way to work out the kinks.

Hello SLN,
Thanks for reminding us that exercise, especially with kids, can really be fun. Maybe I’ll write a post on other fun activites that keep the kids and you active at the same time. Hopefully, next time, though, you won’t be as sore.
